Connect Your AI Agent to JodGig Data

This page shows you how to let your Claude answer questions using JodGig's business data. It takes about five minutes. You do it once.

After this, you can ask Claude things like:

  • "How many jodders signed up last month?"
  • "Which locations had the most cancellations this week?"
  • "Show me total payouts per company for July."

Claude looks at the real numbers and answers. You do not need to write any code or any SQL.

What you need first

  1. A Claude account (claude.ai, or the Claude Desktop app).
  2. A JodGig Data account. Ali creates this for you and sends you the login. It is a separate login, not your Metabase login and not your Google login.

Set it up

  1. Open claude.ai (or Claude Desktop) and go to Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Fill in only two fields:
    • Name: JodGig Data
    • URL: https://mcp.teamjod.app/api/metabase-mcp Leave every other field empty. Click Add.
  4. Find JodGig Data in your connector list and click Connect.
  5. A login page opens. Sign in with your JodGig Data account (the one from Ali) and approve.
  6. Done. Start a new chat and try it:

Using JodGig Data, count the rows in the users table.

If Claude answers with a number over 100,000, everything works.

Add the JodGig skill (do this too)

The connector gives your Claude access to the data. The skill teaches it how to use the data well: which tables to use, what the status numbers mean, and the common mistakes to avoid. Without the skill, Claude can still query — but it guesses more, and more answers come back wrong.

First, download the skill file: jodgig-data.zip on Google Drive. (One exception: Claude Code users who have the docs repository do not need this download — see the Claude Code part.) Then follow the part below for the Claude you use. If you use more than one, do each part — they do not share skills with each other.

claude.ai (web)

  1. Keep the file as a zip. Do not unzip it.
  2. Go to Settings, then Capabilities. Make sure Code execution and file creation is turned on.
  3. Go to Settings, then Customize, then Skills. Click +, then Upload a skill, and pick the zip file.
  4. Done. The skill turns on by itself whenever you ask about JodGig data.

Claude Desktop

The Desktop app does not see what you uploaded on claude.ai. Upload here too:

  1. Keep the file as a zip. Do not unzip it.
  2. In the app, go to Settings, then Capabilities. Make sure Code execution and file creation is turned on.
  3. Go to Settings, then Customize, then Skills. Click +, then Upload a skill, and pick the zip file.

Claude Code (terminal)

  1. Get the skill in one of two ways:
    • You have the docs repository on your machine: you do not need the zip download at all. Inside the repository, the skill is already active. To have it in every other folder too, copy it once (adjust the path to where your repository is):
      cp -R ~/jod/repo/docs/.claude/skills/jodgig-data ~/.claude/skills/
    • You do not have the repository: download the zip from the link above and unzip it once:
      unzip -o jodgig-data.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/
After either one, the skill works in every folder on your machine.
  2. Claude Code also needs the connector, which the web setup above does not give it. Register it once:
claude mcp add --transport http jodgig-data https://mcp.teamjod.app/api/metabase-mcp
Then type /mcp inside a Claude Code session and sign in with your JodGig Data account.

When Ali updates the skill

He will tell the team. On claude.ai and Claude Desktop: delete the old skill on the Skills page, download the new zip from the same link, and upload it again. On Claude Code: download the new zip and run the same unzip -o command — the -o replaces the old version (or simply pull the docs repository, if you use the skill from there).

Important: the names you will see are fake, on purpose

The data your Claude reads is a special copy. All personal details are removed or replaced before the copy is made, every night:

  • Names show as "Jodder 4812", emails as "user4812@scrubbed.jod".
  • Phone numbers, addresses, bank accounts, and NRIC numbers are blank or fake.
  • All the business numbers are real: jobs, payments, credits, dates, statuses, locations.

This is not a bug. It means you can ask Claude anything about the business without ever exposing a jodder's personal information. If you need to look up a specific real person, that is a job for the normal admin portal, not for Claude.

One more thing to know: the copy is refreshed every night at 03:30. Numbers from today will only appear tomorrow.

Rules

  • Do not share your JodGig Data login with anyone, including teammates. Each person has their own.
  • The business numbers are still confidential. Treat Claude's answers like any internal report.
  • If you think your account was compromised, tell Ali right away. Turning off one account takes a minute and does not affect anyone else.
