Gig Job Timeline
Gig Jobs have a predefined lifecycle from job creation until completion. This document summarizes the timeline from two different perspectives:
- Client Timeline - activities performed by the Hiring Manager (Client)
- Jodder Timeline - activities performed by the Jodder (Applicant)
These two timelines happen simultaneously and interact with each other throughout the job lifecycle.
TL;DR
The following table summarizes the key phases of the Gig Job lifecycle for both Clients and Jodders.
| Phase | Client | Jodder |
|---|---|---|
| Job Creation | Hiring Manager creates a Gig Job. Jobs created within 24 hours of the shift start are not eligible for Auto Select. | — |
| Application | Applicants can immediately apply after the job is published. | Jodders can apply or withdraw their application before being selected. |
| Applicant Selection | Hiring Manager selects applicants. Once all required slots are filled, additional applicants cannot be selected. | Selected applicants enter the ACK1 phase. |
| ACK1 | — | Jodder acknowledges the job assignment after being selected. |
| ACK2 | Hiring Manager can generate a Clock In after the Jodder completes ACK2. | Final confirmation before the shift. Completing ACK2 makes the Jodder eligible for Clock In. |
| Clock In | Hiring Manager can generate the Clock In QR Code on the day of the scheduled shift after the Jodder completes ACK2. | Clock In is available 1 hour before the scheduled shift starts. |
| Payment | Payment is automatically generated immediately after a successful Clock In. | — |
| Clock Out | Hiring Manager generates the Clock Out record after the Jodder has clocked in. | Jodder submits Clock Out after completing the shift. |
| No Show | — | The system evaluates No Show 4 hours after the scheduled start time if the Jodder has not clocked in. |
| Medical Certificate | — | Medical Certificates can be uploaded up to 4 hours after the scheduled start time. |
| Client Cancellation | Penalty depends on when the job is cancelled: 0 / 2 × hourly rate / 4 × hourly rate. | — |
| Jodder Cancellation | — | Suspension depends on the cancellation time and whether supporting documents are approved by the OPS team. |
| Job Completion | The job ends after the shift and post-job processing is completed. | The timeline ends once the Jodder successfully submits Clock Out. |

Client Job Timeline
Timeline Overview
Timeline Phases
Job Creation Phase
The Job Creation Phase begins immediately after a client successfully creates a Gig Job.
During this phase:
- The job becomes available for applicants.
- The Applicant Selection Phase starts immediately.
- The system determines whether the job is eligible for Auto Select.
Notes
- Jobs created within 24 hours before the shift starts are NOT eligible for Auto Select.
- Jobs created more than 24 hours before the shift starts are eligible for Auto Select based on the configured schedule.
Applicant Selection Phase
The Applicant Selection Phase starts immediately after the job is created.
During this phase, Hiring Managers can review applicants and select workers for the job.
The phase continues until:
- the job starts,
- the job is cancelled,
- or all required applicants have been selected.
Notes
- Hiring Managers cannot select additional applicants once all required positions have been filled.
- Selected applicants will enter the ACK1 Phase on the Jodder timeline.
Auto Select
Auto Select is a scheduled process that automatically assigns applicants to eligible jobs.
Schedule
| Time | Action |
|---|---|
| 09:00 (Daily) | Auto select for AM jobs on the next day |
| 17:00 (Daily) | Auto select for PM jobs on the next day |
Requirements
- Job must be created more than 24 hours before shift start.
- The job must still have vacant slots.
- Eligible applicants must be available.
Clock In Generation
After a Jodder completes ACK2, the Hiring Manager can generate the Clock In QR Code.
The Clock In QR Code can only be generated on the day of the scheduled shift.
Once generated, the Jodder can scan the QR Code to Clock In starting 1 hour before the scheduled shift begins.
Payment Generation
Payment is automatically generated immediately after the Jodder successfully clocks in.
The payment record stores a snapshot of:
- Job
- Location
- Pay Rate
- Other payment-related information
Notes
- Once payment has been generated, certain job information (such as location) can no longer be modified.
Clock Out Generation
Clock Out can be generated by the Hiring Manager after the Jodder has successfully clocked in.
Once the Clock Out record has been generated, the Jodder can submit their Clock Out after completing the shift.
Cancellation Policy
The cancellation penalty depends on when the client cancels the job.
| Cancellation Time | Penalty |
|---|---|
| More than 24 hours before shift start | No penalty |
| Within 24 hours before shift start | 2 × hourly rate |
| After job has started | 4 × hourly rate |
Notes
The cancellation policy only applies after a Jodder has been selected.
Job Duration
The Job Duration starts when the shift begins and ends when the scheduled shift finishes.
During this period:
- Clock In is available.
- Clock Out becomes available after Clock In.
- No Show detection may occur.
- Payment processing continues after the shift.
Jodder Job Timeline
Timeline Overview
Timeline Phases
Job Apply Phase
The Job Apply Phase begins once the job is published.
During this phase, applicants can:
- View the job.
- Apply for the job.
- Withdraw their application before being selected.
The phase ends when:
- the applicant is selected,
- the applicant withdraws,
- or the job closes.
ACK1 Phase
ACK1 starts after the applicant has been selected by the Hiring Manager.
This phase occurs before ACK2.
During ACK1, the Jodder acknowledges the job assignment.
The phase ends when the applicant proceeds to ACK2.
ACK2 Phase
ACK2 occurs after ACK1 and before Clock In.
This is the final confirmation before the working shift.
After ACK2 is completed:
- the system generates the Clock In record,
- the Jodder becomes eligible to clock in during the Clock In window.
Clock In Phase
The Clock In Phase opens 1 hour before the scheduled shift starts.
The Jodder can perform Clock In during this window.
After a successful Clock In:
- Payment is generated.
- Clock Out becomes available.
Clock Out Phase
Clock Out becomes available after a successful Clock In.
The Jodder submits Clock Out after completing the shift.
Clock Out marks the completion of the working session.
No Show Execution
If the Jodder has not clocked in, the system performs No Show evaluation.
Execution Time
- 4 hours after the scheduled job start time
If the Jodder is determined to be a No Show, the corresponding No Show workflow is executed.
Medical Certificate Upload
Jodders may upload a Medical Certificate (MC) for eligible absences.
Upload Deadline
- Up to 4 hours after the scheduled job start time
Medical Certificates submitted after this period may not be accepted.
Cancellation Policy
The suspension outcome depends on when the Jodder cancels the job.
| Cancellation Time | Result |
|---|---|
| More than 48 hours before the shift starts | No suspension |
| Less than 48 hours before the shift starts | Suspension may be applied |
Notes
- If the Jodder cancels without uploading a supporting document, the suspension will be applied automatically according to the cancellation policy.
- If the Jodder uploads a supporting document (e.g., a Medical Certificate), the suspension decision will be reviewed by the OPS team.
- The OPS team may approve the document and waive the suspension, or reject the document and apply the suspension.
Job Duration
The Job Duration starts when the scheduled shift begins.
During the job duration:
- Clock In is available.
- Clock Out becomes available.
- No Show monitoring is active.
